GOOD news for Fuwa fans: the Fuwa cartoon series will begin airing on CCTV on October 1. Many Chinese stars have lent their voices to the characters. Olly and her friend Liu are fans of the show.

Olly: Liu, do you have any big plans for the National Day holiday?

Liu: How could I possibly manage to do anything special with an empty wallet? But, really, who needs big plans when CCTV will begin airing the new Fuwa cartoon series.

Olly: I thought the series has already been airing on BTV 10.

Liu: Yes, but since I don't live in Beijing, I don't have access to it. Finally, I'll be able to see the show. Everyone I've talked to just loves it.

Olly: Yeah, it's great. It tells people a lot about the Olympic Games and the Olympic spirit.

Liu: Sure, but, to be honest, I'm really looking forward to hearing the voices of Zhang Liangying.

Olly: Yeah, you and a lot of other people. The series is certainly a clever way to make good use of the stars' existing fan base.

Liu: It's certainly working with me. I can guarantee you that when that show is on TV, I won't be doing any chores. I'll be planted firmly on the couch and watching attentively.

Olly: Well, then, I'm looking forward to meeting an Olympic-literate you after the break.

Liu: I won't let you down.
